Parent Support Advisor

Introducing Tracey Mitchell, our new Parent Support Advisor... Image preview

Hello, I am Tracey Mitchell the new Parent Support Advisor working across Bunwell, Banham,  Thompson and East Harling primaries.

My role is to support you as parents/carers to help you and your children gain as much as possible from their school life.

Parenting isn’t an easy job and at times things can get tough – homework can seem daunting, finances are often stretched to the limit and problem behaviour can be really upsetting.  I am here to help you  deal with any worries or concerns about your child and to help you tackle any home issues that are making school life difficult for you and your family.  If I cannot help you I can refer you to specialist agencies or support services if you wish, but I will be able to support you through this process.

Each week, I will be at the schools on the following days:

Bunwell Primary – Monday

Thompson Primary – Tuesday

Banham Primary – Wednesday

East Harling Primary – Thursday

I can be contacted via my email address or the school office.  I will also be available at the beginning of each day and at the end of the day if you need a quick chat to discuss any concerns or worries.  This can be followed up with a longer meeting if required.

I am really looking forward to meeting you all and helping you with any worries or concerns you may have.

My email:                 Telephone: 07745523537

All families need a helping hand from time to time, the following organisations can also offer support to parents.

Just one number: 0300 300 0123

A number that you can call from Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm, if you need to speak to your health visitor, school nurse or any other member of the healthy child programme. This can be for any issue affecting a child's physical or mental health from 0 - 19. The Just One Norfolk website has a wide range of support and advice for families on topics such as childhood illnesses, bed wetting, managing anxiety, and speech and language.

Parentline 07520 631590

Parentline is the text service for parents/carers to get in touch about any parenting questions or concerns. Parents may choose to use this service if they find it hard to call in to Just One Number during opening hours, or you may just prefer to chat by text with a health professional. If parents need advice about a child or young person’s health or wellbeing, simply send a text and one of their team will text you back.

Parents can text at anytime on 07520 631590. A health professional from the 0-19 team will reply during their opening times. Parents can have the whole conversation by text if that works best for you, or the practitioner can call you.
